Yasmin Tadjdeh is a journalist, native Northern Virginian and recent George Mason University grad.
This spring, Yasmin interned at USA Today, working primarily for USA Today College, where she edited and digitally packaged articles for SEO. She also worked on a number of social media and administrative tasks. Yasmin also was the editor-in-chief of VoxPop Diversity, a GMU Office of Student Media (OSM) publication.
This fall, Yasmin worked as an intern for Doublethink magazine, a project of the America’s Future Foundation, writing a variety of articles pertinent to the libertarian and conservative movement which included interviewing members of Congress and notable academics.
Last summer, Yasmin worked as an intern for the Pennsylvania Independent in Harrisburg, Pa. covering legislation and politics at the state’s Capitol.
While an undergraduate at GMU, Yasmin was an active member of GMU’s Office of Student Media. She first worked with Broadside, GMU’s student newspaper as a reporter during her freshmen year, and by the second semester of her sophomore year she was the news editor. Yasmin is also the former Senior News Editor for Student Life & Digest at Connect2Mason.com, OSM’s news and convergence website.
Yasmin has also worked with Patch, AOL’s online hyperlocal news endeavor, interviewing and collecting information on businesses in Burke, Va. to help create a comprehensive online directory. She previously freelanced for Burke Patch where she wrote on a variety of topics including health, economics, local lore and human interest pieces.
